When it comes to choosing your kitchen countertop material you will encounter a lot of options, and you need to think about a lot of factors depending on what you’re looking for. Today I’m going to share with you my thoughts on granite countertops. There is a lot of information on the internet and a found that a lot of people are sharing the pros and cons of the material but I wanted to share the good things that this material has to offer you and why it could be a good choice for your kitchen.

First, let’s start with the basics. Granite is a natural stone and one of the hardest materials. Which means that is the most resistant material for a countertop. Unlike marble, granite is heat resistant which means that you can put hot pans, and trays on it and it won't be damaged by it. It’s true that because is a natural stone is going to be porous but if it’s sealed properly it will be stainless and bacteria-free, and it going to last for years without yearly sealing as other materials.

As a natural stone, it means that you're going to have a unique piece that no one will have and you’ll find a lot of diversity at the moment you select your slab. You won’t find two identical. Their uniqueness and their durability are the top characteristics of it which will increase the value of your home and will be something that buyers will find very attractive knowing that they won't need to replace it unless they really want something different and not because they need to do it.

It’s true that compare to other options this is expensive but in the long term, it will be a good investment that you won't need to replace for damage or spend every year on maintenance. If you plan on selling your home, you’ll see the ROI on it. While you’re living there you’ll enjoy it without worrying too much and it will look amazing in any kitchen.
